Thursday, November 24, 2011 - Around lunch time on Thanksgiving Day, Engine 18 was dispatched 2nd Alarm to box 1-4 in the city of Williamsport for a working structure fire on Washington Blvd (Two Boys From Italy). Engine 18 responded with 5 and was instructed to stage at the hydrant east of the scene and send manpower forward. City crews made quick work of the fire with a good stop and Engine 18 along with crews from other surrounding municipalities assisted with checking for extension and overhaul. Engine 18 returned to service around 1330 hours.

Units responding were Engine 2-1, Tower 1, Engine 14-1, Car 1, Squad 14, Ladder 20, and Engine 18.

Thursday, October 06, 2011 - At approx. 0825 hours Station 18 was dispatched to assist Station 20 on an MVA with entrapment in the 19000 block area of route 180 highway. Rescue 18 was added to the call because Engine 1-20 was out of service for maintenance. Units arrived finding one vehicle down the enbankment after going through a penndot directional sign into a tree with one person trapped. Crews from Montoursville, Loyalsock, and Muncy assisted with taking the roof and pushed the dash to extricate the driver. Units returned to service shortly after 0920 hours.

Units responding were Ladder 20, Tanker 20, Ambulance 1-20, Rescue 18, Rescue 39, Medic 1-91, and Platoon Chief 91.

Saturday, September 10, 2011 - At approx 0445 hours Station 18 was dispatched along with Stations 22, 20, 25, 15, 2(RIT) for a working structure fire at 4234 Route 87 Highway. Tanker 18 arrived and established a water supply from a nearby creek, then sent manpower forward to assist with operations. Engine 18 arrived and sent manpower forward to staging and assisted operations with overhaul. Units returned to service around 0730 hours.

Units responding were Engine 22, Ladder 20, Tanker 20, Tanker 18, Engine 18, Tanker 15, Squad 2, and Ambulance 1-20.

Monday, May 23, 2011 - It is with heavy hearts that the Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company #1 announces the passing of Lifetime Member and Trustee Bob Walter. Bob was a member of Station 18 for 52 years, 15 of which he served as a trustee. Bob was a fixture around the fire house and will be missed by each and every member he has touched throughout the years. Rest in peace brother.

Bob's Obituary as seen in the Williamsport Sun Gazette:

Robert John Walter, of Loyalsock Township, died at his home with family present May 23, 2011.

Born to John and Helen Walter on July 1, 1926, in Catawissa, Pa., he graduated from Catawissa High School in 1947. He married Nellie Myers on June 23, 1951. Together they were to celebrate their 60th year of marriage in June. They raised three children, Steven and wife, Merrie, of Berwick, Christine Lauchle and husband, John, of Montoursville, and Todd and wife, Melanie, of Lawrenceville, Ga. They have six grandchildren, JC Lauchle Jr., Megan Gaspari, Ryan Walter, Christa Lauchle, Garrett Walter and Riley Walter and three great-grandchildren, Mason, Tyler and Marin. Especially close to Bob is his niece, Lois Jean Long of Pottstown, Pa. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne Walter of Woodbridge, Va. His parents, in-laws and sister have preceded him.

Bob was active from an early age. Like many children of his era he worked to support his family during the Depression. He was active in Scouting starting as a child, became a Life Scout, and Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow. He continued as a leader in both Boy Scouts and Explore Scouts.

He served in the Army in the European Theater of Operations during World War II as a member Service Company 712th Tank Battalion. The unit was part of Patton's Third Army where he met the General several times, the last serving in his Honor Guard at his burial in Luxembourg. He was selected to help rescue the Lipizzaner Show Horses at the end of the war. Post war, he operated tours of southern Germany and Austria for soldiers. He completed his time in the Army helping to establish the US Constabulary Forces in Europe then continuing post Army in the Constabulary Association until health limited his travel.

He returned from the war to finish his high school degree and attend Philadelphia Technical School.

He loved driving and was a life-long truck driver from his early years until his retirement from Follmer trucking company after 26 years.

His many memberships include Lodge No. 106 F&AM, the Valley of Williamsport Consistory, Teamsters Local No. 764, America Legion Post No. 104, honorary member of Norcross, GA Lodge No. 228 F&AM, and Charter Member of Catawissa VFW. His longest and most treasured membership is as a Life Member of the Loyalsock Township Volunteer Fire Company. He served over 52 active years and was a Trustee serving in that position more than 15 years.

In his spare time Bob loved to spend time with his family cooking, camping and traveling.

Bob's memorial service will be held at Faxon Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1301 Clayton Ave., Williamsport on June 4th. (Time to be announced.)

In lieu of flowers his family asks any donations be made to Susquehanna Regional Home Health & Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, Faxon Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1225 Clayton Ave., Williamsport, or the Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company, 715 Northway Road, Williamsport.

A special thank you goes out to the individuals of Susquehanna Hospice that made Bob's passing bearable for him.

Saturday, April 09, 2011 - At around 0730 hours Engine 18 was dispatched second alarm to a working structure fire on 4th street in the City of Williamsport. Engine 18 responded with six and was instructed before arriving on-scene to lay into Ladder 20 at the rear of the structure. Engine 18 hit the hydrant located at Edwin and Market streets and supplied Ladder 20. Crews were then divided and sent to the second and third divisions of the structure to assist with operations. Mobile Air 18 and IMU 18 were also requested to the scene. Engine 18 remained on-scene for approximately 3.5 hours assisting with operations and overhaul before returning to service shortly before noon.

Stations responding were 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 18, 20, and 45.

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 - At around 2230 hours Station 18 was alerted to a working fire in box 20-4 on green hollow road. Tanker 18 responded with 6 and was instructed to setup a fill site at the top of the driveway due to this being a non-hydrant area. Tanker 18s crew setup the portable pond and supplied Tanker 20. The crew then moved manpower forward to staging bring with them a portable pump that would be used to supply Ladder 20 from a nearby stream. Sunday, March 27, 2011 - Just before 9 am Station 18 was dispatched for an Automatic Fire Alarm at TGI Fridays on East Third Street with multiple smoke head activation. Moments later, county dispatch upgraded the alarm to a working structure fire, flames showing from the roof. Tanker 18 was first to respond and laid it's own supply line from a hydrant in front of the building on east third street. Crews quickly knocked down the fire inside the building but Tower 18 still had some visible fire on the roof coming from the ventilation system. Tower 18 and Ladder 20 crews extinguished the fire on the roof and were able to contain it to the ventilation system. Crews remained on-scene for a little over 2 hours performing overhaul and cleanup. Units returned to service around 1130 hours.

Units Responding were Tanker 18, Engine 18, Tower 18, Special Unit 18, Ladder 20, Tanker 20, Engine 1, Engine 22, Engine 15, and Squad 2.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011 - Engine 18 responded with 6 personnel to a second alarm working structure fire in the city of Williamsport. Engine 18 was instructed by command to stage Engine 18 at Third and Walnut and send manpower forward. Manpower was requested to establish RIT operations and to send two to the rear of the structure to assist with operations.

Units responding were Engine 1, Engine 14-1, Tower 1, Rescue 11, Engine 18, Ladder 20, and Squad 14.

Friday, February 04, 2011 - Engine 18 and Mobile Air 18 were dispatched second alarm to a working structure fire in the City of Williamsport with confirmed entrapment. Engine 18 was instructed by command to lay a 5inch supply line from Locust street to Engine 1. Engine 18's crew was then assigned to RIT and assisting with staffing for Engine 4-1 for other calls in the city of Williamsport.

Units Responding were Engine 1, Engine 4-1, Engine 14-1, Tower 1, Engine 18, Mobile Air 18, Ladder 20, Rescue 11, and Engine 9.

Monday, January 03, 2011 - Station 18 was dispatched at just after 1830 hours along with Stations 1, 14, 15, and 2 (RIT) for a working structure fire on Rural Ave in Loyalsock Township. Units arrived on-scene to find flames showing from the rear of the structure. Engine 2-1 and Engine 18 crews made entry into the structure and knocked down the bulk of the fire within minutes. Units remained on scene for over an hour performing extensive overhaul of the structure.

Units responding were Engine 18, Tower 18, Tanker 18, Rescue 18, MICU 18, Mobile Air 18, Engine 2-1, Tower 1, Engine 14-1, Engine 15, Engine 9 and Squad 14.

Wednesday, December 22, 2010 - Just before noon Station 18 was dispatched to a chimney fire at 730 Starr Road. Chief 18 and Engine 18 arrived on scene and Chief 18 upgraded to a working fire after discovering fire had spread from a wood burning stove into the walls. Engine crew advanced a line to the second floor of the structure and was able to knock down the fire before it spread through the structure. Units from Montoursville and Eldred township assisted with opening up the walls and roof of the structure. Units worked for about an hour and a half before returning to service.

Units responding were Engine 18, Tanker 18, Special Unit 18, Tanker 20, Amb 1-20, Tanker 22 and Station 18 and 22 Fire Police. Engine 15 and Ambulance 15 were moved to Station 18.

Wednesday, November 24, 2010 - At around 1500 hours Station 18 was alerted to a three alarm fire which called for Engine 18 into the City of Williamsport. While enroute to the scene, Engine 18 was instructed by command to lay a 5inch supply to Tower 1 from Hillside and Ridge. Engine 18 then sent manpower forward to assist with operations. Engine 18 remained on-scene until around 1830 hours.

Units responding to the scene were Engine 1, Tower 1, Engine 14-1, Squad 14, Engine 9, Engine 10, Ladder 11, Engine 8, Ladder 20, Engine 18, Squad 2, Car 1, and MICU 91.

Tuesday, September 07, 2010 - At approx 1620 hours Engine 18 was requested to respond to the scene of a structure fire in Barbours for extra manpower to assist with overhaul. Engine 18 responded with 6 and assisted with ventilation and cleanup. Engine 18 returned to service around 1730 hours.

Later that night around 0130 hours, Tanker 18 was dispatched to Lower Barbours Road for a structure fire as a result of a rekindle at the site of the previous structure fire. Tanker 18 responded with 6 shortly after dispatch and assisted with overhaul. Tanker 18 returned to service around 0500 hours.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - At approx 0150 hours Station 18 was dispatched to Oakmont Drive in Loyalsock Township for a working structure fire. Chief 2-18 arrived on-scene and had heavy fire showing from side A of the structure. He immediately called for a second alarm and put third alarm on stand-by. Engine 18 was first to arrive on-scene and went to work on side A of the structure. Tower 18 responded and went into operation on side b of the structure using 2 master streams on the fire. Units worked for over an hour before the fire was determined to be under control.

Units from Loyalsock, Montoursville, Williamsport, Old Lycoming Township, South Williamsport, Duboistown, Hepburn Township, Eldred Township, and Clinton Township responded.

Saturday, July 31, 2010 - Tower 18 and Mobile Air 18 attended the annual Mifflinburg Fireman's Carnival this year and took home awards for both units. Tower 18 received the Best Appearing and Equipped Aerial while Mobile Air 18 took home the Best Appearing and Equipped Specialty Unit.

A special thanks to the members that spent countless hours cleaning and waxing Tower 18 for the parade. Great Job!!

Monday, July 19, 2010 - On July 14th, 2010, FF Richard Springman, from the Trout Run Volunteer Fire Company, was killed while responding to a fatal motor vehicle accident on Route 15. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the members of Station's 15, 16, and to the family of our fallen brother.

Rescue 18, Ambulance 18, and Brush 18 remained in service during the ceremony and staged at Station 15 for any mutual aid calls.

Friday, July 16, 2010 - At approx 1845 hours Tanker 18 was special called to a working structure fire on Route 973 in Wooward Township. Once on scene, Tanker 18 was used for tanker shuttles and it's crew for fire suppression and overhaul. Tanker 18 remained on-scene for nearly 4 hours while assisting Station 2 with foaming the structure and clean-up.

Units responding were MICU 94, Engine 4-45, Rescue 45, Engine 2, Tanker 2, Tanker 15, Tanker 16, Tanker 18, Tower 3, Engine 14, and Tanker 31.

Saturday, July 10, 2010 - The Station 18 Junior Firefighters held a car wash over the weekend that raised over $1300 dollars for the Junior Firefighter program. The two day event spanned 12 hours and had a great turnout. Job Well Done Juniors!!

Friday, June 18, 2010 - At approx. 0800 hours Station 18 was dispatched to TGI Fridays on east Third Street for a kitchen fire. Chief 2-18 arrived on scene to find nothing showing exterior. Chief 2-18 made entry and found the dining area filled with smoke. Engine 18 responded and pulled a line into the D side of the building. Ladder 20 assisted with ventilation and checking for extension.

Units responding were Engine 18, Tanker 18, MICU 18, AMB 18, and Ladder 20.

Sunday, June 06, 2010 - At approx 1600 hours Station 18 responded to a reported MVA with rollover and entrapment, 1 injury. Fire police LT 18 was first on scene and reported 1 vehicle on its side with 1 entrapped. With that report, Life Flight 4 was placed on stand-by. Rescue 18 extricated the patient from the vehicle who was then transport via MICU 18 to the LZ which was setup by Engine 18 at the Loyalsock Soccer Fields. Units responding were Rescue 18, Engine 18, Special Unit 18, MICU 18, AMB 18, Platoon Cheif 91, and Station 18 Fire Police.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 - At approx 1130 hours Station 18 was dispatched for an MVA with at least 1 injury at the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Tinsman Ave. Units Arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles off the roadway and into yards on opposite sides of Lincoln Ave. MICU 18 transported 1 to the Williamsport Hospital with minor injuries. Rescue 18 assisted with hazard control and patient packaging. Other units responding were AMB 18 and SU 18 who assisted with EMS and traffic control.

Before all units were available from that incident, Station 18 was dispatched to E 3rd street in front of McDonalds for another MVA with 1 injury. Rescue 18 arrived on-scene to find 2 vehicles, 1 off the road-way and 1 blocking the exit of McDonalds, and 1 patient with minor injuries. MICU 18 and AMB 18 packaged the patient and AMB 18 transported to the Williamsport Hospital. Rescue 18 assisted with hazard control and clean-up and both Special Unit 18 and Brush 18 assisted with traffic control around the incident. Units returned to service shortly there after.

Monday, May 10, 2010 - The Loyalsock Volunteer Fire company participated in a mock DUI crash involving students from the Loyalsock High School. Station 18 assisted with removing live victims from the wreckage, landing Life Flight, and removing deceased victims for the county coroner. Students were shown first-hand what can happen when you make a bad decision to get behind the wheel after drinking.

Saturday, April 24, 2010 - Loyalsock Fire participated in the annual March of Dimes Event held at Bruce Henry Park this year. Station 18 sent Rescue 18 and Special Unit 18 to the event where Members answered questions related to fire prevention, apparatus, and equipment. Special Unit 18 remained in service to provide QRS if needed.

Members attending were Chris Suzadail, Zack "Patches" Groff, James Place, and Chad Weaver.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010 - At approx. 0230 hours Engine 18 was dispatched to Box 1 in the City of Williamsport for a working structure fire. Engine 18 responded with 6 personnel and were instructed by command to send manpower forward when on-scene. Engine 18's crew 1st assignment was to ladder side B of the structure. After completing that task, Engine 18's crew reported back to command and were instructed to report to Operations for another assignment. 3 personnel were sent to the 3rd division and another 2 were sent to work on the 1st and second divisions.

Units responding to the scene were Engine 2-1, Tower 1, Engine 14-1, Squad 14, Engine 18, Ladder 20, Squad 2 (RIT), MICU 1-91, Ambulance 91, Platoon Chief 91, and Station 14 fire police.. Ladder 11 and Engine 8 were sent to city headquarters.

Saturday, April 17, 2010 - LVFC #1 sent 5 memebers to a structural burn class held by Station 11 in Pleasant Gap, PA. Topics included hose line management, hydraulic ventilation, fire behavior, search and rescue, and fire suppression. Members attending were Chad Weaver, James Place, Zach "Patches" Groff, Matthew Orshaw and Chris "Suzie" Suzadail.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 - At approx 0630 hours Station 18 was dispatched for Rescue 18 to respond to Hepburn Township for an MVA with entrapment. Rescue 18 responded with 6 personnel and, while en route, was advised to setup a landing zone for Life Flight 4 and Life Flight 2 at the Balls Mills Church at the intersection of Bloomingrove Road and route 973. Chief 2-18 established command of the LZ and Rescue 18 assisted with the packaging and loading of the patients. Rescue 18 returned to service at 0720 hours.

Friday, March 19, 2010 - At approx 0430 hours a second alarm was called for sending Tanker 18 and Mobile Air 18 to a working structure fire with entrapment in Hepburn Township. Tanker 18 responded and was ordered into the scene to supply water to Engine 14 and send manpower forward. Tanker 18's crew went to staging and was instructed to enter the structure on side B and keep the fire from spreading in that direction. The ceiling and walls were opened to prevent extension and the fire in the garage extinguished. Tanker 18 remained on-scene to assist Station 15 with overhaul and the removal of the victim. Tanker 18 returned to service at approximately 1100 hours.

Units Responding: Engine 15, Ambulance 15, Tanker 16, Tanker 17, Mobile Air 18, Tanker 18, Engine 14, Engine 14-1, Tower 1, Engine 9, and Stations 14, 15, and 16 Fire Police.

Thursday, March 04, 2010 - At approximately 0430 hrs, Engine 18 was dispatched, along with Station 1 to a working structure fire at 215 Germania Street in the City of Williamsport. The first arriving Chief on the scene reported heavy fire coming from the structure and requested a second alarm. Engine 18 was requested by command to establish its own water supply and take the front of the structure to the East Side. Due to limited access to the structure, Engine 18 and Engine 2-1 were the only two Engines able to gain access to the structure. The Engine 18 crew was split sending 3 to the front of the structure, and 2 to assist WBF on the east side. After the bulk of the fire was knocked down, Engine 18 was moved in order to get Ladder 20 in place to open the roof. The Engine 18 crew was reassigned to RIT while the RIT team was reassigned to help with the removal of the vicitim. Due to integrity problems with the structure, this was a prolonged recovery effort. Engine 18 was placed back in service at approx. 1030 hrs. Units responding were Engine 2-1, Engine 14-1, Engine 4-1, Tower 1, Engine 18, Ladder 20, Squad 14, Squad 2, Rescue 13, Engine 8, Ambulance 91, MICU 1-91, Medic 1-91, and Station 14 Fire Police.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - At 0837 hours Station 18 was dispatched for a technical rescue assignment in the 1500 block of Laffayette Parkway in Loyalsock Township for a trench collapse with entrapment. Initial reports had the victim completely buried. MICU 18 responded and immediately called for the status of Life Flight and Task Force 80 to be dispatched. MICU 18 arrived on-scene and found a male entrapped up to his chest. Captain 2-18 arrived on-scene moments before Rescue 18 and established command. Station 18 crews worked to remove soil from around the patient while task force 80 was en route. Task force 80 arrived on-scene and immediately began operations to secure the trench and gain access for EMS personnel. Access was gained and the patient was extricated safely from the trench at approximately 1215 hours.

Units Responding on initial dispatch were MICU 18, AMB 18, Rescue 18, Engine 18, Tower 18, Brush 18, Special Unit 18, Tower 18, and Platoon Chief 91. Units responding as part of Task Force 80 were Engine 14-1, Special Unit 8, Rescue 13, Squad 14, and Task Force 80 Personnel.

Saturday, January 30, 2010 - At 0311 hrs, Engine 18 was dispatched to Box 1-4 in the City of Williamsport for a working bedroom fire. Engine 18 arrived on-scene and was instructed by command to establish RIT. Units responding were Engine 18, Engine 1, Engine 4-1, Engine 14-1, Tower 1, and Engine 14 was moved to city headquarters. Friday, January 29, 2010 - At 0645 hrs, Station 18 was dispatched to a working trailer fire on Freedom Road in Loyalsock Township. Chief 2-18 was first to arrive on-scene and found heavy fire from the rear of the structure. Engine 18 laid 400 ft of supply line and made the initial attack on the fire along with Engines 2-1 and 14-1. Units responding were MICU 18, Engine 18, Tanker 18, Rescue 18, Engine 2-1, Engine 14-1, Engine 14, Tanker 15, Tanker 22, and Squad 2 (RIT).

Monday, January 25, 2010 - At approx 2017 hrs, Station 18 was alerted to an MVA on Warrensville Rd and Lick Run Road for unknown injuries. Upon units arriving on scene, found 2 vehicles with one on its side in the middle of the roadway and the PSP Cruiser sitting alongside the guiderail. The reported fire in the other vehicle was knocked down by PSP and extinguished by Tanker 18. Bystander reports stated the Trooper pulled the one victim out of the car prior to EMS arriving on scene. Rescue 18 extricated the other patient within 19 minutes of initial dispatch. The Trooper was assessed by EMS on scene and transported by another PSP Cruiser to a medical facility. The patients in the vehicle on its side were being assessed by ALS (MICU 18, Medic 1-91, and P.C. 91) and transported via Life Flight 1 and 4 to a local trauma center. Units responding were: MICU 18, Rescue 18, Tanker 18, Ambulance 1-18, Engine 18, Ambulance 18, SU 18, Brush 18, Engine 22 (LZ @ St 22), St 18 and 22 Fire Police.

Sunday, January 10, 2010 - At 1515 hrs, Stations 18 and 15 were dispatched to an MVA in the 1700 block of Bloomingrove Road reported to be head-on with partial ejection. While enroute, Chief 2-18 was alerted that one of the vehicles was now on fire. Chief 2-18 arrived on-scene and confirmed a small fire in the engine compartment which was immediately extinguished. Chief 2-18 also checked on injuries and confirmed 1 injury, 1 fatality, and 2 refusals. The Lycoming County Coroner was then requested to the scene. Rescue 18, Engine 18, and Engine 15 arrived on-scene and assisted with removal and packaging of the injured patient. Ambulance 18 transported BLS to Williamsport Hospital. Rescue 18 remained on-scene while State Police conducted their investigation and helped with the removal of the victim. Units were placed in service within 3 hours of dispatch. Units responding were Resuce 18, Engine 18, Tanker 18, Ambulance 18, MICU 18, Engine 15, Special Unit 15, Ambulance 15, Platoon Chief 91 and Station 15 and 18 Fire Police.

Thursday, December 31, 2009 - At 0120 hrs, Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Sycamore Rd and Lincoln Drive. The initial dispatched stated 1 vehicle on it's side and unknown injuries. MICU 18 arrived on-scene to find one vehicle partially in the roadway on its side with no occupants inside. Rescue 18 stabilized the vehicle and controlled all fluid hazards. Units responding were Rescue 18, MICU 18 and Station 18 Fire Police.

Thursday, December 24, 2009 - At 0235 hrs Engine 18 was dispatched to Box 1-4 for a reported Working Structure Fire on Menne Alley in the City of Williamsport. Initial reports stated flames showing from the roof. Engine 18 responded and was instructed to lay-in from the hydrant to Tower 1 and send manpower forward. Engine 18 personnel were sent into the structure to help with the initial attack of the fire. Other units responding to the scene were Engine 2-1, Engine 4-1, Engine 14-1, Tower 1, and Mobile Air 18. Special Unit 18 responded and assisted Station 18 and 14 Fire Police with traffic control and Engine 14 was moved up to city headquarters.

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 - At 1935 hrs, Engine 18 was dispatched to a Working Garage Fire on Box 1-4, located in the area of the 800 block of Franklin Street in the City of Williamsport. Engine 18 was instructed to send manpower forward to help with fire operations. Other units responding were Engine 2-1, Engine 4-1, Tower 1, Engine 14-1, Engine 14, and Station 14 Fire Police.

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 - At 1910 hours Station 18, Engine 15, and Squad 14 were dispatched to an MVA in the area of Williamsport Auto Sales & Service on Lycoming Creek Rd with unknown injuries. Squad 14 was first to arrive on-scene an report 2 vehicles still in the roadway and no injuries. Rescue 18 arrived on-scene shortly after and assumed command. Station 14 and 15 units were released and Rescue 18 crew assisted with hazard control and lighting. Scene was left to Station 14 and 15 Fire Police and all other units went available. Units Responding were Rescue 18, MICU 18, Squad 14, Engine 15, Stations 14, 15, and 18 Fire Police.

Friday, December 11, 2009 - At 0010 Hrs Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Washington Blvd. and Shiffler Ave with no injuries. MICU 18 was first to arrive on-scene and found 1 vehicle in the parking lot and 1 vehicle still in the roadway, no injuries. Rescue 18 responded and provided traffic control until fire police arrived and checked for/controlled all hazards. Units responding were Rescue 18, Special Unit 18, MICU 18 and Station 18 Fire Police.

Wednesday, December 09, 2009 - At approx. 0800 hrs Station 18 was alerted to a Working Fire on Box 1-4 in the City of Williamsport. The dispatch came over as a transformer fire with flames showing endangering a structure and oxygen tanks at the Divine Providence Hospital. Engine 18 responded and was sent to the first floor of the hospital to check for extension. The fire was quickly knocked down by WBF firefighters. Engine 18 personnel also assisted with the ventilation of the upper floors that were affected. Due to the possibility of the fire spreading into the hospital, a second alarm was requested by Chief 1. Units responding to the incident were Engine 1, Engine 2-1, Engine 4-1, Tower 1, Engine 14-1, Ladder 20, Engine 14, Engine18, Amb 1-14, MICU 1-91, Platoon Chief 91, Amb 91, and Medic 1-91. Saturday, November 28, 2009 - At approx. 1330 hours Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA in the area of the Olive Garden on East Third Street. Platoon Chief 91 was on-scene and reported two vehicles, 1 still in the roadway, no injuries. Rescue 18 and Station 18 Fire Police responded and assisted with traffic control and debris removal.

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 - On the eve of Thanksgiving, Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Shiffler Ave. and Washington Blvd. at approx 1915 hours. MICU 18 arrived on-scene to find 2 vehicles, 1 on it's roof with confinement. Rescue 18 personnel stabilized the vehicle and used tools to open the door in order to extricate the patient. Units responding in addition to MICU 18 and Rescue 18 were Special Unit 18 and Station 18 Fire Police.

Sunday, October 25, 2009 - Station 18 participates in the 64th annual Mummers' Parade in South Williamsport.

Saturday, October 24, 2009 - At approx 1800 hrs Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA with reported injuries at the 1700 block of East Third Street. Chief 3-18 arrived on-scene to find 2 vehicles off the roadway, 1 into the bushes in front of Pizza Hut, all occupants out of the vehicles. Rescue 18, Ambulance 18, Medic 1-91, and Station 18 Fire Police responded and Ambulance 18 transported 1.

Monday, October 19, 2009 - At approx. 0955 hrs Station 18 was dispatched to Interstate 180 Eastbound for an MVA with at least 4 injuries. MICU 18 arrived on-scene to find two vehicles, one being a dump truck, partially in the roadway and median, occupants still inside the car. MICU quickly identified there were two Class 3 and two Class 2 patients. Rescue 18 arrived on-scene and removed the roof from the vehicle to help with the extrication of the patients. Ambulance 18, Ambulance 1-18, and Ambulance 1-20 handled the transports to the Williamsport hospital. Other units responding were Engine 18, Platoon Chief 91, Medic 1-91, and Station 18 Fire Police.

Sunday, October 11, 2009 - At approx 1300 hrs Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA on Warrensville Road just north of Four Mile Drive with report of a head-on collision and entrapment. Units arrived on scene to find two vehicles with heavy damage, 1 on it's roof, with multiple injuries. Rescue 18 personnel used rescue tools to extricate 1 patient from the vehicle. Command requested 2 additonal BLS units to the scene in addition to the 2 ALS units responding (MICU 18 and Platoon Chief 91). Platoon Chief 91 was soon recalled by Command and returned to service. MICU 18, Ambulance 18, and Ambulance 1-18 handled transports. Units responding were Engine 18, Rescue 18, Special Unit 18, Brush 18, and Station 18 Fire Police.

Thursday, October 08, 2009 - At approx 1230 hrs Station 18 was dispatched to the 2100 Blk of Warrensville road for an MVA with unknown injuries. MICU 18 arrived on-scene to find 1 vehicle on it's side, all occupants out. No hazards were found and MICU 18 obtained 1 patient refusal. Units responding were Rescue 18, Ambulance 18, and Station 18 Fire Police.

Wednesday, October 07, 2009 - As part of thier annual fire prevention activities Station 18 Inspectors met with the 2nd grade students of Schick Elementary. Topics discussed were fire extinguishers, stop, drop and roll, smoke detectors, and teaching the students that firefighters are their friends.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 - At approx. 1900 hours Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA at the interserction of Northway Road and East Third Street. MICU 18 arrived on-scene to find two vehicles in the roadway all occupants out of the vehicles and fluids leaking. Rescue 18 responded to control the fluid hazards. Also responding were Station 18 Fire Police.

Thursday, September 24, 2009 - At approx. 1350 hrs. Station 18 was dispatched to Mutual Aid Box 20-5 in Upper Fairfield Township for a working structure fire at 4063 Route 864. Command was established by Chief 20 who immediately called for a second Alarm. The home was fully involved by the time the first units arrived and command called for exterior operations only. The fire was knocked down in around 20 mins and put under control in approximately an hour. Units responding were Tanker 20, Ladder 20, Engine 1-20, Ambulance 20, Tanker 18, Engine 18, MICU 18, Engine 22, Tanker 22, Engine 23, Tanker 23, Tanker 24, Engine 2-1, Engine 25, Tanker 25, Rescue 13, Engine 14, and Engine 15.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009 - At approx. 1530 hrs Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Sheridan and Shiffler Streets. Initial report had 1 injury with the patient unresponsive. MICU 18 arrived on-scene to find two vehicles, 1 patient still inside. Rescue 18 responded and assisted with the extrication of the patient by popping the driverside door and stabilization. Units responding beside MICU 18 and Resuce 18 were Engine 18, Special Unit 18, Medic 1-91, Platoon Chief 91, and Station 18 Fire Police.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 - At appox 1500 hours Stations 18 and 15 were dispatched to the 2400 block of Lycoming Creek Road for a vehicle fire. Chief 15 was first to arrive on-scene and reported heavy fire coming from the rear of the vehicle. Chief 2-18 arrived on-scene shortly after and assumed command. Units responding were Engine 15, Tanker 15, Ambulance 15, Engine 18, Tanker 18, MICU 18, Ambulance 18, and Special Unit 18.

Sunday, August 23, 2009 - At approx 1215 hours Stations 18, 20, 22, 2, and 1 were dispatched to 100 Miller Lane for a working structure fire on Box 18-1. MICU 18 was first to arrive on-scene and found a two-story woodframe structure with flames and smoke showing. Chief 2-18 arrived on-scene and assumed command while Chief 3-18 assumed operations. Engine 18 arrived on-scene and hit the high pressure hydrant located adjacent to the structure. Tower 18 moved to side D of the structure upon arivial and Ladder 20 moved to Side A. Tanker 18 arrived on-scene and established a second water source having Engine 22 reverse lay to the hydrant located at the intersection of Northway Road and E. Third Street. A second alarm was initiated 45 mins into the incident to give crews on-scene a break. Units Responding on initial alarm were MICU 18, Ambulance 18, Special Unit 18, Engine 18, Tanker 18, Tower 18, Rescue 18, Mobile Air 18, Ladder 20, Engine 2-1, Engine 22, and Squad 2 (RIT). Second Alarm units responding were Engine 10, Engine 11, Ladder 11, Engine 14, Engine 9, Tanker 20, Tanker 8 and Rescue 13. Rescue 13 was moved to Station 18 to stand-by and Engine 15 was also standing-by in their station. Engine 24 was moved to Station 20. The fire was placed under control at approx 1600 hrs. Station 18 units remained on-scene while the State Police Fire Marshall conducted his investigation. All Station 18 units returned to service around 1830 hrs.

Saturday, August 15, 2009 - At 1127 hours Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Northway Road and Loyalsock Ave, reported 1 injury. Units arriving on-scene confirmed 1 injury and multiple vehicles involved. Units Responding were Rescue 18, Ambulance 18, Medic 1-91, and Station 18 Fire Police.

Saturday, August 15, 2009 - While on-scene of the MVA at Northway and Loyalsock Ave, Station 18 was dispatched to another MVA on the 1300 block of Commerece Park Drive. Resuce 18 was placed back in service along with Ambulance 18 and both units responded. Medic 1-91 was the first to arrive on-scene and reported two vehicles in the roadway, occupants still in the vehicle. Resuce 18 arrived and assisted with hazard and traffic control. Medic 1-91 and Ambulance 18 were placed back in service after obtaining refusals. Units responding in addition to Rescue 18, Ambulance 18, and Medic 1-91 were Ambulance 1-20 and Engine 1-20 (because station 18 units were on previous incident), and Station 18 Fire Police. Station 20 units were recalled by command.

Saturday, August 15, 2009 - After briefly returning to service from the previous two incidents, Station 18 was dispatched to the intersection of E. Third Street and Clayton Ave. for an MVA involving a motorcyclist. Units arrived on-scene to find the motorcyclist still down in the roadway and immediately asked for the availability of LifeFlight. Due to another incident, LifeFlight 4 out of Montoursville was unavailable so MICU 18 transfered 1 to the Williamsport Hospital, emergency conditions. Units responding were MICU 18, Ambulance 18, Rescue 18, Engine 18, Special Unit 18, and Station 18 Fire Police.

Sunday, August 09, 2009 - While on other incidents during the storm, Station 18 was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Northway Road Extentsion and Poco Farm Rd. When units arrived on scene, they found one vehicle into a pole with no injuries or hazards. The pole was sheared off and PP&L was notified and added it to their growing list of incidents. Units on scene were Rescue 18, Special Unit 18, Brush 18, and Fire Police.

Sunday, August 09, 2009 - During a severe thunderstorm, Station 18 was alerted to a box alarm with a tree into the structure on Log Run Road. When units arrived on scene, they found multiple trees into the structure. Upon assessment, they found structural damage to the second floor of the house. All utilities were shut off to the structure for precaution. Units on scene included Rescue 18, Engine 18, and fire police.

Saturday, August 08, 2009 - At approx. 1330 hrs, Station 18 was dispatched to the 1600 block of Warrensville Road for an MVA with unknown injuries, vehicle on its roof. Ambulance 18 arrived on-scene reported 1 vehicle down an embankment on its roof and the occupant was out of the vehicle. Rescue 18 responded and assisted with hazard controls. Units responding were Ambulance 18, Rescue 18, and Station 18 Fire Police.
