LVFC Handles MVA with Entrapment on Northway Road Ext.
Sunday, June 06, 2010 - At approx 1600 hours Station 18 responded to a reported MVA with rollover and entrapment, 1 injury. Fire police LT 18 was first on scene and reported 1 vehicle on its side with 1 entrapped. With that report, Life Flight 4 was placed on stand-by. Rescue 18 extricated the patient from the vehicle who was then transport via MICU 18 to the LZ which was setup by Engine 18 at the Loyalsock Soccer Fields. Units responding were Rescue 18, Engine 18, Special Unit 18, MICU 18, AMB 18, Platoon Cheif 91, and Station 18 Fire Police.
Busy Afternoon for Loyalsock Fire
Tuesday, May 18, 2010 - At approx 1130 hours Station 18 was dispatched for an MVA with at least 1 injury at the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Tinsman Ave. Units Arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles off the roadway and into yards on opposite sides of Lincoln Ave. MICU 18 transported 1 to the Williamsport Hospital with minor injuries. Rescue 18 assisted with hazard control and patient packaging. Other units responding were AMB 18 and SU 18 who assisted with EMS and traffic control.
Before all units were available from that incident, Station 18 was dispatched to E 3rd street in front of McDonalds for another MVA with 1 injury. Rescue 18 arrived on-scene to find 2 vehicles, 1 off the road-way and 1 blocking the exit of McDonalds, and 1 patient with minor injuries. MICU 18 and AMB 18 packaged the patient and AMB 18 transported to the Williamsport Hospital. Rescue 18 assisted with hazard control and clean-up and both Special Unit 18 and Brush 18 assisted with traffic control around the incident. Units returned to service shortly there after.
Entrapment on Warrensville Road, 2 Flown VIA LifeFlight
Monday, January 25, 2010 - At approx 2017 hrs, Station 18 was alerted to an MVA on Warrensville Rd and Lick Run Road for unknown injuries. Upon units arriving on scene, found 2 vehicles with one on its side in the middle of the roadway and the PSP Cruiser sitting alongside the guiderail. The reported fire in the other vehicle was knocked down by PSP and extinguished by Tanker 18. Bystander reports stated the Trooper pulled the one victim out of the car prior to EMS arriving on scene. Rescue 18 extricated the other patient within 19 minutes of initial dispatch. The Trooper was assessed by EMS on scene and transported by another PSP Cruiser to a medical facility. The patients in the vehicle on its side were being assessed by ALS (MICU 18, Medic 1-91, and P.C. 91) and transported via Life Flight 1 and 4 to a local trauma center. Units responding were: MICU 18, Rescue 18, Tanker 18, Ambulance 1-18, Engine 18, Ambulance 18, SU 18, Brush 18, Engine 22 (LZ @ St 22), St 18 and 22 Fire Police.
Fatal MVA on Bloomingrove Road
Sunday, January 10, 2010 - At 1515 hrs, Stations 18 and 15 were dispatched to an MVA in the 1700 block of Bloomingrove Road reported to be head-on with partial ejection. While enroute, Chief 2-18 was alerted that one of the vehicles was now on fire. Chief 2-18 arrived on-scene and confirmed a small fire in the engine compartment which was immediately extinguished. Chief 2-18 also checked on injuries and confirmed 1 injury, 1 fatality, and 2 refusals. The Lycoming County Coroner was then requested to the scene. Rescue 18, Engine 18, and Engine 15 arrived on-scene and assisted with removal and packaging of the injured patient. Ambulance 18 transported BLS to Williamsport Hospital. Rescue 18 remained on-scene while State Police conducted their investigation and helped with the removal of the victim. Units were placed in service within 3 hours of dispatch. Units responding were Resuce 18, Engine 18, Tanker 18, Ambulance 18, MICU 18, Engine 15, Special Unit 15, Ambulance 15, Platoon Chief 91 and Station 15 and 18 Fire Police.
